Bluestone Engineering was hired to design the mechanical, electrical and technology systems in this historic facility after it was heavily damaged in the flooding of 2008.

The building, which previously served as Cedar Rapid’s City Hall, was re-purposed into museum space, auditorium space, a restaurant and leased offices.  As part of the project, Bluestone designed replacements for the entire HVAC, plumbing, electrical and technology infrastructure for the facility.  Special HVAC systems were designed for the museum to maintain specific temperature and humidity levels.  A new commercial kitchen was also added to support the restaurant and event catering.

This project was completed in multiple phases.
